About the Artist

Chen Qi

Chen Qi was born in 1951, in Wu Chuan County of Guangdong Province, China. Since his graduation from the oil painting department of Guangdong Academy of Fine Arts, Chen Qi has become a member of the Zhan Jiang Academy of Fine Arts and the vice-director of the Committee of Oil Painting Arts of Zhang Jiang. Chen Qi is currently the dean of Boliya Arts Academy, Shenzhen, Class One artist of the China Association for Fine Arts Shenzhen Centre and the director of its oil painting section.

Chen Qi’s paintings have been published in the renowned journal Chinese Fine Arts, South Daily and Shenzhen Fine Arts Research. His works are critically acclaimed by local and foreign art scenes. In 2005, Chen Qi was honorably nominated to participate in the Shenzhen Youth Artist’s Exhibition and his work “Still Life” was enlisted as part of a prominent collection of Shenzhen Arts Gallery.
